Family Friendly & Kid Focused Activities

  • Apple Archery - Kids will be able to live like their favourite archers like Robin Hood, Hawkeye, Merida, or even Katniss Everdeen by shooting an arrow through an apple target.

  • Apple Arts and Crafts - A variety of apple themed arts and craft activities for children created and sponsored by Bigfoot Customs.

  • Apple Baking (am) & Cookie Decorating (pm) - Learn a creative way to bake a delicious apple for a dessert or healthy snack, or decorate cookies through the help from a professional baker. Apple Baking sponsored by Walker's Own Produce. Cookie decorating led by Mousse Cake Sally.

  • Apple Face Painting - Get your face painted by our creative face painting crew!

  • Apple Games - Play some fun games such as mini-putt, Yahtzee, 4-in-a-row and giant Jenga-style tower, all with an apple theme.

  • Apple Taste Testing - This is where you want to be to explore the many different apples that are available! Can you guess which apple you are tasting? If you get stumped just head over to Everything Apples, to learn more! Sponsored by Walker's Own Produce.

  • Apple Market and Juice Pressing - Make a difference in kids' lives and get some apples for a donation to Kamp Kiwanis. Why not also try your hand at old-fashioned apple pressing and sample some apples pressed into delicious juice? Sponsored by Walker's Own Produce and Kiwanis Club of Calgary Chinook.

  • Apple Treasure Hunt - Visit various venues at the festival and collect stamps to get a prize from the information booth!

  • Bouncy Castle - Kids can have a blast jumping around on the Re/Max Bouncy Castle.

  • Demonstrations* - Safe4Life will be giving a self-defence and personal safety demonstration at our games court at 10:15am daily. You won't want to miss these exciting, high energy demos!

  • Everything Apples - Come to our active learning space! Learn all you ever wanted to know about apples and more. The Calgary Public Library Book Truck* will be there with more information on their services and to help you learn even more about apples!

  • Kite Building - Build and fly your own kite. Key Club Members from Robert Thirsk High School will be there to help you create your

  • River Hike - Enjoy the best part of living so close to Kananaskis, where the knowledgeable Kamp Kiwanis staff will take you on a quick journey towards the beautiful Elbow River. Departing on the hour 12pm - 3pm!

  • Tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides (Weather dependent) - Have an opportunity to ride up several feet into the air in a tethered hot air balloon provided by Re/Max and Sundance Balloons. Please note that this activity is extremely weather dependent and may or may not be available. We will not know until the day of and cancellation can occur at a moment's notice.
